A love story, written one letter at a time.
The ‘I Love You’ Prints were inspired by the Grandparents of Amatus founder & Creative Director, Siobhan.
‘‘The designs were inspired by a romantic story told by my Granny from her time separated from my Grandpa during the Second World War.
She told me that while they were separated her and my Grandpa would write eagerly anticipated letters to each other in their early courting days. She would always look forward to receiving her letters but felt the letters were too short and didn’t say much. So after telling him, he responded in such a beautiful and simple way: he sent pages and pages of paper covered with just the words "I love you, I love you, I love you."
As she told me the story there was a glint in her eyes and a smile on her face - I saw the love she must have felt at the time.
That story stayed with me. There's something incredibly touching about the idea of filling page after page just to make sure someone knows how much you love them.
When I was creating these prints for Amatus, I wanted to capture that feeling without overcomplicating it. The handwritten words become the artwork itself – a visual representation of love that is uncomplicated, personal and enduring.
The result is a collection of contemporary romantic wall art inspired by a real love story from my own family.
These romantic prints are dedicated to my Grandparents but also designed to help people share love without having to say much at all ’’, Siobhan.

During the Second World War, her grandparents kept in touch by writing letters to each other while they were apart. Her granny told her grandpa that his letters were too short, so he sent her pages and pages of paper covered with "I love you, I love you, I love you."
It is this touching family story that inspired the design.
